Teresa Farnum

I am proud to be a Unitarian-Universalist for 53 years including the First Church-Unitarian of Athol, Massachusetts, and UUF Vero Beach, Florida, where I enjoyed being a member of a covenant group and served on their Board of Directors for Bridges Child Care. Professionally, I was a math professor and Dean of Natural Sciences at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire for 16 years, and also taught briefly at Willamette University and Regent’s College in London.
Most relevant is my experience serving as consultant to 300+ colleges and universities all over the world for 20 years, 10 of them as president of Teresa Farnum & Associates, Inc. I helped client institutions improve services to students to help them learn, succeed, and graduate. Campus communities were never short of good ideas, and I provided the necessary structure to plan and ensure action.

I have been a member of UUCS for two years, where I started Chalice Circles to complement Connections. I am now interested in joining the Board as a Director, especially to assist in increasing funding through means other than pledges. I am hoping to use my experience on campuses to elicit ideas for strategies from the congregation and to engage members in developing a process and structure for action and success.
